Deepavali Greetings from Swami Chidanandaji Maharaj to Swamijis in charge of Pattamadai Hospital
November 4, 2002

Blessed Immortal Souls!

Dear & Esteemed Swami Sharavanabhavanandaji Maharaj,
Swami Jnananandaji,
Swami Omkaraswarupanandaji,
Swami Jagdishwaranandaji,
Swami Sivakrupanandaji,
Swami Ashramanandaji,
Swami Viraktanandaji and Sri K.Arumugam Aiyya,

Om Namo Narayanaya!

May God and Gurudev bless you and grant you all happiness and prosperity upon this most auspicious Deepavali Day. This letter brings with it my very best wishes for a bright joyful illuminated Deepavali Day. Eventhough I am separated by a long distance, yet my thoughts are with you and the noble work that you are doing in Gurudev Sri Swami Sivanandaji's name for the sick and the suffering. A happy Deepavali to one and all of you. May good cheer fill your heart.

My special message for this Deepavali is that you may banish darkness from every nuke and corner of your heart and mind and your entire personal nature or svabhava. May you all live in a spirit of brotherhood, friendship, unity and mutual harmony. Thus may your daily life be characterized by loving cooperation, understanding, a spirit of fellowship and oneness. Let there be no room for any misunderstanding, quarrels, arguments, difference of opinion and loosing of temper. On the other hand let there always be a positive mood, smile and laughter. Take time to crack a joke once in a while. It is worthwhile doing so. It is actually a good investment in human relationship. Be wise. Let us all join together and prove what is Divine Life. This is best Guru Dakshina. This is also true and valuable Guru Bhakti. The entire atmosphere of the hospital will begin to shine. The entire staff will have a noble example and a noble ideal before them. It will be worthy of emulation.

Worshipful prostrations to Sadgurudev Sri Sivananda Bhagwan. Worshipful homage to Divine Mother Goddess Maha Lakshmi, the goddess presiding over the festival of lamps.

May you all enjoy your Deepavali midday feast-meals. Remember me when you sit down and eat your "Virundu Sappadu". Sri Arumugam ji will tell you the meaning.

May be Smt. Sitalakshmi sends something prepared at her home as an additional item for you all to enjoy with your meals.

Om Namo Narayanaya!
Om Namo Bhagavate Sivanandaya!
